Appointment choices

I currently prefer 90 minute sessions, yet my cost per session remains the same as an average hourly session in London.  Personally, I feel an hour is not enough to do really good, unrushed work.

– Central London – £145 for 90 mins.  (Currently unavailable due to COVID19.)
– Face to face sessions at my home office in West Norwood/Streatham (SW16) – £120 for 90 mins.
– Online sessions (Zoom/Facetime/Skype) cost £120 for 90 mins.

Sessions are available Monday to Saturday and, very occasionally, evenings by arrangement.

Frequently Asked

Can anybody be hypnotised?

People do vary in their ability to create deep clinical trances. However, most problems are maintained by the habitual trances the client is running unintentionally in mind.  These trances distort your experience and limit choices. Most people need to be de-hypnotised more than they need more hypnosis.

We’ll quickly find the best method of creating lasting change, whether we use formal hypnosis or not.

How many sessions will I need?

Cognitive Hypnotherapy is a very ‘brief therapy’ model. Most simple problems can be resolved in a few sessions or even one. For complex problems, those with many parts or layers, it may take longer but rarely as many as five. Typically sessions are a week or two apart so that improvements can be measured and the next treatment tailored to the new situation. In most cases you should be able to notice significant improvement after every sessions so you should never be left wondering if the sessions are working for you.

Is hypnosis safe?

Hypnosis is very safe and the sessions should be relaxing. You won’t lose control, you won’t get stuck in a trance. Hypnosis helps you to regain control over your mind by learning more about its nature.

Hypnosis is not usually recommended for anybody with a history of epilepsy since the process of relaxation can be a trigger for this condition.

Cognitive Hypnotherapy may not be suitable for clients diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder or Schizophrenia.

What's the difference between Hypnosis and Cognitive Hypnotherapy?

Hypnosis is fairly ill-defined and you rarely get two hypnotists using the same method to create change. There are skilled and unskilled hypnotherapists. Many of the unskilled ones just use simple scripts that can be purchased on-line; this fails to understand or address the specific problems of the client and can often miss the mark.  If it fails, the hypnotist has nothing else up their sleeve but to repeat the session.

Cognitive Hypnotherapy is a style of modern, evidence based, hypnosis within a systematic structure. It tends to use light trances together with Word Weaving (a structure for ensuring the aim and application of the session meet the particular client’s needs). Incorporated into the model is a number of additional modern treatments known for creating quick and lasting change such as EMI, EFT etc.  Cognitive Hypnotherapy is the only system of hypnosis that has been subject to published peer-reviewed study.

What is my next step if I'm not sure?
If you have any questions or want to book a session, call or email me. I’m happy to answer any questions you have if you’re not sure that you want to book hypnosis now. Leave a message if I am not available and I will call you back. You’ll always have my honest opinion.
